In class we discussed and watched two (non-violent) snippets from the movie Gladiator.  And then, by some coincidence, it is on tonight on TNT!

I’m curious if anyone notices that it is on and sees it.  Its a great movie, and I would absolutely recommend you watch it edited for TV.

Its on again at 11pm, but that would keep you up way too late.

Mr Martin i’m very confused of what you want me to do for linking the the sentences into the thesis 10-27-09

Which sentences do you mean?

Each paragraph should be organized like this:

1. Topic sentence – introduces the supporting argument to the thesis.
2. strongest supporting argument
3. next strongest supporting argument
4. supporting argument – at least one supporting argument should address similarities/differences to ancient Rome
5. “Clincher” a “therefore” type of sentence that provides a good conclusion of your points and relates the whole paragraph back to the thesis.

Remember, you don’t have to write the essay yet, you just need to identify which ideas you want to use to support your thesis. Once you know which ideas you want to use to argue your point, writing the essay will be much easier.

Hope this helps, let me know if it doesn’t.
