Immigration- migration to a location.
Some obstacles that immigrants face are the: citizens dislike of the cultural differences & exploitation by politicians for local economic problems.
An example of the citizens dislike is in the state of California, where citizens voted to deny immigrants access to schools, day-care centers, & health clinics.
The rights of the children of immigrants to go to school and receive social services is still debated in the United States.
Immigrants who move to host countries in Western Europe and the Middle East become guest workers, citizens of poor countries who obtain jobs there.
Policies of host countries in Western Europe and the Middle East :
Europe
- guest workers are protected by minimum-wage laws & labor union contracts
Western Europe
- take low status & low skilled jobs
- drive buses
- collect garbage
