Instructions: Over the next 2 days you will conduct research to not only familiarize yourself with the concept of population, but to identify and document your 6 best sources (3 for each side) through an annotated bibliography.
By the end of Wednesday you should have at least begun to identify several sources that you want to document.
You will create and post your annotated bibliographies as a post under your account on the website. To make a new post, you will go to your “dashboard” and click the Add New link under the Posts category on the upper left menu. Be sure to frequently click “Save Draft” in the top right while you are working to make sure you don’t lose work.
Here is a sample of an annotated bibliography describing the “Was Malthus Right?” article that we read yesterday:
“Was Malthus Right?” c.1999

This article explains the debate regarding overpopulation, particularly in regards to the theory of Robert Malthus. 200 years ago Malthus introduced the idea of “overpopulation” that exists today. This article presents the two positions people take on the idea of overpopulation. Those who argue that the world is becoming dangerously overpopulated point out the decreasing amount of farmable land, the AIDS epidemic, and the lack of fresh water as the most troubling issues. Those who argue that overpopulation is not such a troubling issue point out that the world can actually feed many more people than presently living, and that the human suffering throughout the world is more a byproduct of human behavior rather than overpopulation.
I accessed this site on 11/16 by google searching overpopulation debate.
